Structured Day Programme

A Structured Day Programme is literally a programme designed to help in the process of replacing a chaotic addictive lifestyle with one of structure and wholeness, tailored wherever possible to encompass the talents and capabilities of each individual client.

It will be abstinence based, run by qualified and experienced professionals although many aspects will be client led.

Each client will be individually assessed and given a chance to prove that they are willing to put effort, time and energy into their recovery.

On acceptance the client will be invited to attend the SDP five days a week for a period of 16 weeks. The timetable will offer a holistic approach covering all aspects of drug and alcohol recovery (mind, body & spirit).
Spiritual development has and will be actively encouraged and nourished by participation in a community in which Christian principles will be upheld and pastoral counselling made available. It is not expected, however, that clients will have a Christian faith, We welcome people of all faiths. ALL visitors /guests / clients are made welcome - regardless of race, gender, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation or physical /mental capability.

Education, life skills, social skills will all be taught as well as counselling & teaching to help people address issues from their past and embrace hope for their future.

Access to participate in the SDP and reintegration programme will not be restricted to Marah Drop-in clients although those who we have worked with previously and anyone who is resident in / or returning to the Stroud and surrounding districts will be given preference. There will be an open referral from any other concerned agencies such as GDAS, CSSMS or the Probation Services. We will also accept referrals from families or self referrals, although entry onto the project will follow individual assessment and interview by the Marah Team.
